COLOMA SUMMER BASKETBALL LEAGUE

THE COLOMA GIRLS BOWLING TEAM IS THE DIVISION 3 STATE CHAMPION FOR 2010!!!!

The Coloma girls bowling team has accomplished what is believed to be Coloma's first State Title in any sport. After four hours of qualifying consisting of eight baker games and two regular team games, Coloma finished third and advanced to the top eight quarterfinal round with a score of 3225. The top eight teams advanced to match play from a field of 18 teams where they bowled four baker games and one regular team game each round. In the quarterfinal round Coloma defeated Hudsonville Unity Christian 1470-1356. Advancing to the semi final round Coloma defeated Fremont (the second place qualifier) by a very intense six pins, 1661-1655. Coloma was leading the match after the four baker games by only 16 pins while going back and forth the entire regular game it came down to the tenth frame. Coloma was trailing Fremont by 48 pins starting the tenth frame. Coloma's line-up performed well enough including a strike out by Adrianna F. to give Carley T., Coloma's anchor bowler, a chance to get the win. She needed a double and three pins to win. Carley had struggled throughout the day but was very ready for the challenge to get Coloma past the semi final match for the first time in three years. Carley doubled and got 8 to win and advance to the final match. Coloma then defeated Perry for the championship 1593-1469. Coloma had a comfortable lead of 109 pins after the four baker games and adding to that total by winning the regular game 868-853.

ALL FOUR COLOMA BOWLERS MADE THE TOP SIXTEEN IN THE SINGLES COMPETITION
KYLEE M. MADE IT TO THE SEMI FINAL MATCH

Adrianna F. qualified for match play in third place with a 1168, Kylee M. qualified fifth with a 1149, Carley T. qualified twelth with a 1114 while Megan T. qualified sixteenth with a 1093. Megan tied two other bowlers for the last spot forcing a one game roll off to break the tie. Rebekah C. from Alma won the roll off. After the seeding into bracket play, Coloma's Carley T. and Kylee M. were forced to bowl against each other to advance into the top eight. Kylee won that match 386-327 while Adrianna F. was defeated by Leah H. of Ovid-Elsie by a score of 423-389. Kylee defeated Samantha P. of Otisville Lakeville Memorial 346-329 in the quarterfinal match. In the semi final match Kylee was defeated by Jessica L. from Wyoming Kelloggsville 407-384.
