Volleyball
This past season the Comets finished with a record of 34-14-3, sharing the Lakeland Conference championship with Edwardsburg. With this year’s success, Coloma has won or shared the conference title for 7 out of the last 8 seasons. Also, this season the Lady Comets brought home the championship trophy from the Kalamazoo Hackett Early Bird Invitational.
Additionally, Coloma Volleyball is extremely proud that two of its athletes are going to play at the collegiate level. Lindsay Hauch (Valparaiso U.) and Carley Trainor (Lake Michigan College) are joining the long list of young ladies to continue their volleyball careers after graduation from Coloma High.
This list includes: Krystle Weeks (Albion), Lexi Balsis (Tri-State), Hannah Barrett (Hillsdale), Becca Kunselman (Glen Oaks), Andrea Balsis (Valparaiso U.), Erica Bartholomew (Cedarville U.), Chelsea Barrett (Gannon), Sam Ehlers (Jackson CC), Ashley Knight (Olivet), and Kachina Blackmore (Lake Michigan College).

Junior Varsity Coach Cary Saxton
This coming season will be Cary Saxton’s third year with the Coloma volleyball program. She has been involved with the 7th grade, Junior Varsity and Varsity teams.
Coach Saxton currently teaches 6th and 7th grade language arts at Coloma Middle School. She is an alumna of Thornapple-Kellogg High School in Middleville, where she played tennis, softball and volleyball.
Coach Saxton earned Bachelor of History and Bachelor of English degrees from Michigan State University in 2007.
She currently lives in Coloma with her husband, Curt.

8th Grade Coach- Natalie Macerata
For the last six years, natalie macerata has coached the 8th grade volleyball team. As a Coloma Graduate, She enjoys giving back to the athletic programs she was once involved in.
Coach Macerata currently is a title one teacher at the middle school. She graduated from Western Michigan university and grand valley state university.
